Often it is in a client’s best interests to resolve a dispute in a harmonious manner. For example, in situations where it would be beneficial to maintain good relations, such as with neighbours or employers and employees, going down the route of litigation and trial could have long term, negative repercussions.
Alternative to litigation
In these cases, mediation is often the preferred alternative to litigation.
A trained mediator will work towards bringing both parties together and will encourage them to negotiate a reasonable settlement; one that is fair for everyone and results in a healthier outcome where relationships are concerned.
Mediation is a far more economical option than traditional litigation and court trials, and wherever possible Lorrells will suggest that it is used because we promise to work towards the best interests of our clients at all times.
